Cosmetic Acupuncture

What Is Cosmetic Acupuncture?

Cosmetic Acupuncture Offers A Safe Alternative To Botox Or Surgery. Also known as Facial Rejuvenation, Acupuncture, or Acupuncture Facelift, Cosmetic Acupuncture is a safe, effective, non-surgical treatment to reduce the signs of aging. It is based on the principles of Chinese Medicine, which involves the insertion of very thin sterile, disposable needles into the acupuncture points on the face. This superficial insertion will increase the local circulation to the face and stimulate collagen production, which will fill out the lines and give firmness to the skin for a healthy, glowing complexion.

It is more than a cosmetic procedure.

It is a rejuvenation and revitalization process designed to help the whole body look and feel younger. Based on the principles of Oriental Medicine, it helps the whole body look and feel younger by addressing the physical, mental and emotional patterns that cause disease and contribute to the aging process. The use of acupuncture to slow the visible effects of aging began in China in the Song Dynasty (960-1279AD). In traditional Chinese medicine, it is known as “Chinese Medical Cosmetology”.

What Are The Benefits Of Cosmetic Acupuncture?

Cosmetic Acupuncture, in general, may erase as many as five to fifteen years from the face, with results after just a few treatments. The benefits of Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture may include:

  • Improved muscle tone and dermal contraction

  • Drooping eyelids

  • brow lines

  • sagging jowls

  • double chin lifted

  • Increased collagen production

  • Reduction of bags under the eyes

  • Reduction of sagging and jowls

  • Decreased puffiness around the face

  • Elimination of fine lines on the face

  • Reduction of larger wrinkles

  • Hormonal balancing for hormonal acne or dry skin

  • Moistening of the skin through increased circulation to the face

  • Improvement of facial color through increased circulation

  • Tightening of the pores

  • Reduction of age spots

  • Reduction of stress evident in the face

  • Emergence of one's innate beauty and radiance

Who Cannot Receive Cosmetic Acupuncture?

Cosmetic Acupuncture should not be done for patients with pituitary disorders, heart disorders, diabetes mellitus, high blood pressure, or individuals who have a pacemaker or who have a problem with bleeding or bruising, or who currently suffer from migraine headaches. Cosmetic Acupuncture should not be done during pregnancy, during a bout with a cold or flu, during an allergic attack or during an acute herpes outbreak.

Can I Have Cosmetic Acupuncture If I Had Botox?

Yes, Cosmetic Acupuncture will maintain the effectiveness of Botox. So it will save you a couple Botox injections per year.

What is the course of treatment?

A course of treatment consists of 10-15 sessions (generally 12). The first 6 sessions should be performed twice a week and the last 6 sessions once a week to get maximum result. This means that a full course of sessions takes 9 weeks to complete. After completing a course of treatment, maintenance sessions can prolong the results. Maintenance sessions usually occur monthly for 2 to 3 months and then seasonally for as long as you wish to maintain results. Some results may be seen as early as the 2nd or the 3rd session but the effects become most noticeable and lasting on or about the 7th or 8th session. In some exceptionally difficult cases, the course of treatment may need to be repeated again. As in surgical facelifts, the actual outcome and how long the effects will last cannot be predicted. Each person responds differently, depending on his or her age, condition and lifestyle prior to treatment. For this reason, results for some may be more or less dramatic than they are for others.
